GNOME 2 is a new desktop environment which is an
extension to GNOME 1, but is built in such a way
that they can coexist. libgnome is one of the core
libraries for GNOME 2. It is dependent on the new
toolkit GTK 2 and the new Object Activation
Framework (Bonobo).

were made for locating help files. The
--enable-esd switch was added. The --espeaker
option was fixed. General cleanups were done. A
fix was made for "run in terminal" launchers with
gnome-terminal as the preferred terminal. The
translations for the et, fr, id, or, tr locales
were updated.
