dvd-slideshow makes a video slideshow with from a batch of pictures. The output can be in FLV, MP4, or DVD format. It consists of a set of scripts: dvd-slideshow reads a text file
list of all the pictures you want in one slideshow
and creates a movie with your
audio tracks and specified timing. It supports effects such as fades, crops, and the Ken Burns effect. dvd-menu makes a top-level DVD menu
with the output files from dvd-slideshow. dir2slideshow makes a dvd-slideshow input file from a directory of pictures. gallery2slideshow makes the input file from your Gallery album. The output is fed through dvdauthor to create DVDs.

MoviX is a small Linux distro that transforms your PC in a powerful multimedia box. After booting your PC with MoviX, a user-friendly console menu will allow you to use MPlayer (www.mplayerhq.hu) to play any DVD/VCD, video/audio files (most noticeably DivX, AVI, MPEG, QuickTime, WMV, ASF, MP3, and OGG/VORBIS), TV (provided you have a TV card), and radio stations on the Internet (if you are connected to a LAN). Since the entire operating system is loaded into RAM, you do not even need a hard disk to use MoviX.

Movgrab is a command-line movie downloader for sites like YouTube. It has no dependencies; everything that's needed should be there in the tar.gz package. Movgrab can connect through an HTTP proxy, can output the download to stdout for piping into another program, and can fork into the background to free up the console. When forked into the background, its progress can still be seen in a ps list.

v4l-utils is a collection of various video4linux (V4L) and DVB utilities. libv4l is an accompanying collection of libraries that adds a thin abstraction layer on top of video4linux2 (V4L2) devices. The purpose of this layer is to make it easy for application writers to support a
wide variety of devices without having to write separate code for different devices in the same class. It consists of 3 different libraries. libv4lconvert offers functions to convert from any (known) pixel format to V4l2_PIX_FMT_BGR24 or V4l2_PIX_FMT_YUV420. libv4l1 offers the (deprecated) v4l1 API on top of v4l2 devices, independent of the drivers for those devices
supporting v4l1 compatibility (which many v4l2 drivers do not). libv4l2 offers the v4l2 API on top of v4l2 devices, while adding support for the application transparent libv4lconvert conversion where necessary.

The abcMIDI suite consists of programs for turning ABC music files into MIDI and vice versa, typesetting them as PostScript files, and manipulate them in several ways.

libdc1394 is a library that is intended to provide a high level programming interface for application developers who wish to control IEEE 1394-based cameras that conform to the 1394-based Digital Camera Specification (found at http://www.1394ta.org/).

openDIAS (Document Imaging Archive System) provides document imaging with OCR. You can scan documents (with SANE) or import office documents, then assign them tags. It can store all your letters, bills, statements, etc. in a convenient, safe, and easily retrievable way.

FxMovieManager is a file manager which can display
thumbnails of movie files. It can also manage a
playlist of movies and act as a simple front-end
to MPlayer.
