MoviX is a small Linux distro that transforms your PC in a powerful multimedia box. After booting your PC with MoviX, a user-friendly console menu will allow you to use MPlayer (www.mplayerhq.hu) to play any DVD/VCD, video/audio files (most noticeably DivX, AVI, MPEG, QuickTime, WMV, ASF, MP3, and OGG/VORBIS), TV (provided you have a TV card), and radio stations on the Internet (if you are connected to a LAN). Since the entire operating system is loaded into RAM, you do not even need a hard disk to use MoviX.

MoviX vuelve a trabajar con tan solo 64MB de RAM. Samba remoto y volúmenes NFS ahora están correctamente montado, incluso cuando no se encuentra ningún servidor de dhcpd. Salida de TV con DXR3 / H +, Matrox, y las tarjetas de Savage ha sido corregido. Dos nuevos menús se han introducido para facilitar la sintonización de emisoras de radio Shoutcast y Icecast. MoviX once again works with as little as 64MB of
RAM. Remote Samba and NFS volumes now are
correctly mounted, even when no dhcpd server is
found. TV-out with Dxr3/H+, Matrox, and Savage
cards has been fixed. Two new menus have been
introduced for easy tuning to Shoutcast and
Icecast radio stations. Support for wireless NICs
has been introduced.

The supervesafb and supermount patches have been
applied to the kernel. Digital audio output are
now on by default. A new "Play->Dir" menu has been
introduced to automagically play every audio/video
file within a selected directory. MoviX is once
again able to boot from Windows partitions.

Many new MPlayer features have been imported from GeexBox (including subtitle and audio channel on-the-fly switching and the ability to use the MPlayer menu during audio-only playback). Support has been added for slideshows, and many improvements have been made to the MoviX menu.
